Overview of Professional Learning Unit (PLU):
PLU Title: Alabama Reading Initiative Regional Staff: Leading through Quality Questioning
Alabama Standards for Instructional Leaders: Standard 2 - Teaching and Learning
Credit: One Professional Learning Unit
PLU Hours, Sessions 1 - 6: 30 hours
Eligible Participants: ARI State and Regional Staff
Time Frame: December 2010 - May 2011
Resource: Leading Through Quality Questioning by Jackie Walsh and Beth Sattes
To earn CEU Hours:
Participants who wish to earn 20 CEU hours will complete Sessions 1 - 4 (the book study portion of the PLU) and participate as learners in Session 6. Session 6 will be facilitated by those earning a PLU. See the Assignment Checklist for Book Study document below for clarifications.

To earn a PLU~PD Title #: PLUACLD097
To earn CEU hours~PD Title #: sdeari1216
Participants will register on STI for each session completed. The dates on STI should be used as start dates. For example, the date of the first session is 12/16/2010. Begin working on Session 1 assigments on that date and complete them before Session 2 begins on January 20, 2011. The timelines are flexible and meant to serve as a timeline to keep you on track to complete the PLU by April or May. Use the Session 1 Assignment document below to get started. Once you have completed Session 1 use the Checklist for Book Study to complete the remaining assignments.
